Taking Chances…

“Hey!”

“Hello…”

“Earth to Houston…1 2 3”

Tina was feeling relieved and angry at the same time, because she thought she was late for her date with her best friend and here she was being ignored like she wasn’t even there.

Nisha suddenly looked up at her friend, feeling surprised at herself for being lost in thoughts.

“Oh you are here already; I thought you would be late, sorry I was thinking about something.”

“Yeah honey, I am late, and I have been here talking to you since last few minutes.”

“Wow, really? Didn’t notice you.”

Tina was starting get worried about her friend this was not like her at all, lately she had been acting like an alien. She tried to subtly talk about it.

“Is everything alright Nisha?”

“Yeah…all is great. I was just lost in thoughts.”

Tina knew Nisha would tell her whatever it was by herself so she didn’t press further. She tried something more cheerful.

Trust-Devil dressed as an Angel

How do you trust someone?

This is one question that nags most of us sometime or the other. However for Miny, this was the wrong question. Reason was pretty simple; she chose never to trust anyone. For her the question was, “why to trust at all?” Her life was good, she was happy so there was no reason to give control of that happiness to another person by trusting them.

“How was your date?” Smita, Miny’s roommate asked her.

“Oh, it was fun, he was nice.”

“So, when is the fun happening again?”

“Oh you know me, fun never repeats with the same person. He was nice but that was it.”

Just friends…enough to brighten a dull day

“It is so peaceful out here; I wish I could just sit here all day.”

“Yeah, I agree…but that’s what it is…just a wish.”

“Yeah…I know that too well…we have to go back to our messy lives two hours from now.”

Tanisha was sitting behind the auditorium overlooking the massive lake with her school friend Anika. They had known each other for more than ten years from school through college and so forth. They were not best friends, they had conflicting personalities, they didn’t even got along that much, but somehow they reached out for each other when life gave them both lemons. So like a lot of such times they were just sitting there by the lake, introspecting their own lives, choices, etc in their minds.
